Faced with rising costs, well known local Wimmera business O’Connors on the Western Highway, were looking for ways to curb their outgoing expenditure. Chief Financial Officer Michael McGough was interested in solar power as an option for their business. After a completing a comprehensive investigation he decided on installing a 60 kilowatt system for the roof of their dealership in Horsham through local solar supplier  Wades Solar in Pynsent Street. Michael says it has been a fantastic investment for the company.

It captures power from the sun which offsets against our daytime usage, with any excess power sold back to the grid further enhancing our savings. We have been able to reduce our power bills by more than 50%. We’ve been  so impressed with the system and its savings that we have now installed a second system on our Birchip business (40 kilowatt system) and a third in Corowa (50 kilowatt system), and plan to roll out similar systems across our other sites.
